Chris Evelyn is the founder of Lighthouse Counsel. He brings nearly 15 years of federal experience on both the public service and political sides of government, including as Chief of Staff to four federal Ministers in the Trudeau and Carney governments.
As Chief of Staff, Chris led files that secured billions in federal investments: the $36.8 billion extension of $10-a-day childcare, the $1 billion National School Food Program, the $1 billion National Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence, the $100 million Federal 2SLGBTQI+ Action Plan, and the $1.75 billion Universal Broadband Fund. He knows how to make a compelling case for social investments, understands how a file moves from a department to a Minister’s office to the PMO, and has a sharp read on who needs to be on side before a decision gets made.
Chris has spent his career working with non-profits, charities, and mission-driven organizations from the government side of the table. He founded Lighthouse Counsel to give those organizations the senior advice they rarely have in-house: strategic counsel, public affairs, communications, and leadership coaching.
Registered government relations services are delivered through Lighthouse’s partner, St-Aude Advocacy.
Chris holds an M.A. in International Affairs, an M.A. in History, and a B.A. in International Political Economy and History.
